General Recycling Guidelines

Proper Separation of Recyclables.
Place the following items inside your recycling bin
and at the curb by 6:00 a.m.
Please discard items not recyclable as trash.
ALUMINUM & TIN CANS - Includes small scrap pieces of clean aluminum. Labels may remain on cans. Empty, dry, whole or flattened.
CORRUGATED CARDBOARD: Not accepted on recycling route.
May be brought to a recycling facility.
GLASS JARS & BOTTLES – Please rinse. Separate brown, clear and green glass. Labels may remain on glass.
NO BROKEN GLASS! Unacceptable: Light bulbs, mirrors, windows, dishes, drinking glasses.
PLASTIC – Please rinse and remove lids. Labels may remain on containers. Acceptable items have #1 or #2 in the recycling triangles marked on the container. Unacceptable: Hard plastic, plastic bags, cool whip or margarine tubs, hoses, caps, pipe, toys, etc.
NEWSPAPER – Bag or tie separately. Loose newsprint will not be accepted. May include advertising inserts.
MAGAZINES AND CATALOGS – All glossy magazines or catalogs are acceptable except READER'S DIGEST AND TV GUIDE. Loose magazines will not be accepted. Please keep separate from newspaper.
PAPERBOARD AND MIXED RESIDENTIAL MAIL: Paperboard boxes (such as cereal, snack, and tissue boxes). Mixed residential mail (except newspaper and magazines/catalogs) is acceptable in separate bags or bundles.
Please discard the following items with trash!
These items are not recyclable!
Plastic lids and wide mouth containers (such as ice cream pails, margarine tubs, etc.)
Styrofoam containers.
Reader's Digest and TV Guides.
Waxed or food contaminated paper.
Drinking glasses, window panes, light bulbs and broken glass.
Paper tissues and paper towels.
Aerosol cans and cigarette butts.
